Parola Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Parola, including the website at parola.tech and the application at app.parola.tech (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, buying a plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who these terms are with
Parola is operated by Nix Eniego, an individual based in the Philippines ("Parola", "we", "us", "our").
- Contact: nix@parola.tech
We provide support and receive notices by email only.
If you use Parola for a company or other organisation, you confirm you can agree to these Terms on its behalf. In that case, "you" means that organisation.
2. The Service
Parola is a paid social-listening and AI-visibility product for brands and teams. Depending on your plan, it can:
- watch publicly available posts, pages, reviews, search results, and related sources for the brands and keywords you set;
- store and show mentions (including author, title, body, URL, and automated sentiment or relevance labels);
- check how AI answer engines talk about your brand; and
- draft reply suggestions for public threads (drafts are never posted for you).
Results can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Third-party platforms and data providers change what they make available. Sentiment scores, drafts, and AI answers are automated aids. Check them before you rely on them.
The Service is for business and professional use.
3. Accounts
3.1 You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
3.2 Keep your account details accurate. Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for people you invite to your workspace.
3.3 Tell us at nix@parola.tech if you suspect unauthorised access.
3.4 Passwords are stored as a one-way hash (PBKDF2-SHA256). Session cookies are described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Plans and pricing
4.1 Self-serve plans (USD):
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (when offered) |
|---|---|---|
| Spark | $49 | $490 |
| Beam | $149 | $1,490 |
| Beacon | $399 | $3,990 |
| Lighthouse | Custom | Custom |
When annual billing is offered, annual prices are 10× the monthly price.
4.2 Plan limits (keywords, brands, mentions, AI checks, drafts, and sources) are those shown on the pricing page and in the product at the time of purchase. If you hit a hard limit, collection or a feature may pause until the next period or until you change plan.
4.3 There is no free plan and no free trial. New workspaces need a paid plan to use the product. A free homepage check, if offered, is a sample tool, not a plan.
4.4 Lighthouse pricing and any extra terms are agreed in writing. If that writing conflicts with these Terms on Lighthouse-only points, the written terms win for those points.
4.5 We may change prices. For an existing subscription, a price change takes effect on the next billing period after at least 30 days' email notice. Cancel before then if you do not agree.
5. Payment and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides customer service inquiries related to payment and handles returns and refunds to the extent applicable under law and Paddle's policies.
5.1 You buy your subscription from Paddle. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to the purchase. Paddle processes payment details. We never see or store your full card number. In the app we store subscription status, plan, billing interval, and Paddle customer and event identifiers needed to sync your access.
5.2 Subscriptions are billed in advance for each monthly or annual period and renew automatically until cancelled.
5.3 Paddle calculates and collects applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes. The amount charged may include tax based on your location.
5.4 If payment fails, Paddle may retry. We may suspend paid features until payment succeeds.
6. Cancellation
6.1 Cancel anytime through Paddle. Use the Paddle customer portal (linked from your Paddle receipt or subscription emails), or cancel via paddle.net. You can also email nix@parola.tech and we will help you reach the portal.
6.2 In-app cancel. For subscriptions billed through Paddle, the cancel control inside Parola does not stop Paddle from billing. The app refuses that path on purpose so you are not left thinking you cancelled while Paddle keeps charging. Use the Paddle portal (or ask us) instead.
6.3 Effect. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and then ends. If a refund is issued under Section 7.3, access for the refunded period may end when the refund is issued.
7. Refunds
7.1 No voluntary refunds. We do not offer change-of-mind refunds, including for partly used billing periods or for periods in which you did not use the Service. You can cancel at any time under Section 6 to stop future charges.
7.2 Paddle, as Merchant of Record, handles any refund that is due. If you believe you are entitled to a refund (for example, for a duplicate or unauthorised charge), contact Paddle through the link in your receipt or via paddle.net, or email nix@parola.tech and we will help.
7.3 Your statutory rights still apply. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, withdrawal, or other consumer rights you have under mandatory law that applies to you, or any rights you have under Paddle's buyer terms.
See also our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Do not (and do not let others):
- break the law, including privacy, data-protection, anti-spam, consumer, and IP laws;
- stalk, harass, threaten, dox, or unlawfully profile people;
- use Parola to decide someone's employment, credit, housing, insurance, or similar eligibility;
- collect special-category data about identifiable people (health, religion, politics, sexual orientation, and similar) without a lawful basis;
- spam, impersonate, or send misleading messages using drafts or exports from the Service;
- probe, overload, bypass limits or security, or reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows;
- resell or rebrand Parola as your own listening product without our written OK; or
- upload malware or unlawful content.
We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches (Section 14).
9. Your content and public posts
9.1 You keep rights in what you submit (brand setup, keywords, notes, workspace settings). You let us host and process it only to run, secure, and support the Service and to meet legal duties.
9.2 Mentions come from public third-party sources. We do not claim ownership of that content. Authors and platforms keep their rights. You are responsible for how you use exports and drafts under platform rules and applicable law.
9.3 Where mentions include personal data about other people, you are responsible for your own lawful basis when you use that data outside Parola. Our Privacy Policy explains how we process that data to provide the Service.
10. AI and third-party providers
10.1 Features may send mention text, brand context, or prompts to OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini) for relevance, sentiment, entity checks, onboarding helpers, ask-your-data answers, and reply drafts. Drafts are suggestions only and are never posted by Parola.
10.2 Public content may be collected through providers such as Bright Data, DataForSEO, Apify, and Taddy, plus free public feeds (for example news RSS, Hacker News, Bluesky). Coverage changes when those providers or source platforms change.
10.3 AI output and third-party content can be wrong. Check before you act.
11. Our IP
Parola's software, design, and brand are ours (or our licensors'). Your subscription is a right to use the Service, not ownership of it. Feedback you send may be used without owing you a fee.
12. Availability
We aim for a reliable Service on Cloudflare infrastructure, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Third-party outages can affect collection and checkout.
13. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features. If a change materially cuts the core of a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice where we can. You may cancel under Section 6. Any rights you have under mandatory law or Paddle's buyer terms still apply.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1 You may stop using Parola and cancel under Section 6 at any time.
14.2 We may suspend or terminate access, with notice where reasonably possible, for material breach, non-payment, fraud/security risk, or to comply with law.
14.3 After termination, Sections that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) continue to apply.
15. Account closure and data
There is no self-serve "delete account" button yet. Email nix@parola.tech to request closure and deletion of account data. Closing Parola does not by itself cancel a Paddle subscription; cancel with Paddle first. See the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion detail.
16. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MENTIONS, SENTIMENT, AI VISIBILITY SCORES, OR DRAFTS WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR FIT FOR ANY DECISION. NOTHING HERE EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT PHILIPPINE LAW, OR MANDATORY LAW IN YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE, DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE EXCLUDED.
17. Limits of liability
17.1 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for third-party content or platform changes, to the fullest extent the law allows.
17.2 Our total liability for claims arising out of these Terms or the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid for the Service through Paddle in that period (or USD $49 if you paid nothing).
17.3 These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
18. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims, and related losses and reasonable costs, arising from your misuse of the Service, your monitoring configuration, or your use of mention data, exports, or drafts in ways that break the law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these Terms, negligence, or wilful misconduct.
19. Governing law and disputes
19.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would point elsewhere.
19.2 Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply where they cannot be waived.
19.3 If a dispute arises, please email nix@parola.tech first. We will both try in good faith to resolve it amicably before taking formal action.
19.4 If we cannot resolve it, either party may bring the dispute before a court with jurisdiction under Philippine law. This does not take away any right you have under mandatory law to bring proceedings in another forum.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to the account email or shown in the app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, except where the law requires a different process.
